At Kingfisher, we’re proud to support early-career talent through meaningful internship opportunities. Last year, Farah Benoumechiara, a recent graduate from the University of West London, joined us as a Graduate Intern – HR and Business Support Coordinator.

The internship offered Farah valuable employability skills and hands-on experience working in a professional environment within a fast-paced West London-based security company. Her role involved providing a project assigned by her line manager. Farah also worked closely with the team, taking her initiative and undertaking self-directed learning to develop her skills and gain a strong understanding of Kingfisher SEC’s procedures.

We recently spoke with Farah to get her feedback on her time with us:

“After graduating from university, I found it extremely difficult to land a role in HR as most positions required prior experience. I then discovered an internship opportunity at Kingfisher SEC as an HR and Business Coordinator. I was warmly welcomed to the team by two amazing colleagues who guided me through everything I needed to succeed in grasping key HR and administrative tasks, which grew to be useful to me in my future career prospects. After very casually applying for jobs for potential opportunities, I very easily landed my next role. I developed valuable skills, gained insight into the security industry and built my confidence. If I had the chance to go back in time and do it again, I absolutely would.”

At Kingfisher SEC, we believe in supporting people to grow and progress, and we’re very proud to have helped Farah on her career journey.
